Credit card terminals

Just need to take cards? The terminal is free.

Not every business needs a full point of sale. Auto shops, medical and dental offices, salons, and service businesses often just need a reliable card terminal. We set you up with a Dejavoo P1 or a Valor VL100 Pro at no cost with an EBS merchant account. No lease, no rental fee, and a local team that answers the phone.

✓Chip, tap, and swipe ✓Dual pricing built in ✓Text and email receipts ✓Support in English or Spanish

Two countertop terminals, both at no cost

Both take every major card and phone wallet, print receipts, and run on Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable. The difference is the screen and a few features.

Already have a terminal?

We can probably reprogram the one on your counter

If you own your terminal and it isn't locked to your current processor, we can usually move it to your new account without you buying anything.

Running an older Verifone (Vx520, Vx680, V200c, V400c, V400m) or an FD130? Those are at end of life, so we replace them, usually with a free P1 or VL100 Pro. A leased terminal belongs to the leasing company, and Clover devices stay tied to the processor they came from. Not sure what you have? Send us a photo of the label on the back.

Who it's for

Businesses that sell a service, not a menu

If you don't need inventory, table maps, or a kitchen screen, a terminal is faster to learn and there's nothing to maintain.

Working in the field, at events, or out of a truck? A countertop terminal isn't the right tool. Ask about Clover Flex and Clover Go or Square for taking cards on the move.

Free means free

A free terminal, or a “free” terminal on a lease?

Some offers call a terminal free and then put it on a 48-month lease. Here's what free looks like with us.

How it works

From statement to first sale

1

Send a recent processing statement, or tell us your monthly card sales. We put an offer in writing, or set you up on dual pricing.

2

Apply in about five minutes

A short online application. Most accounts are approved within a few business days.

3

Your terminal arrives ready

We program it for your business before it ships, or set it up on site if you're near one of our offices, and walk your staff through it.

Questions

Worth knowing before you switch

Yes. The Dejavoo P1 or Valor VL100 Pro comes at no cost with an EBS merchant account. There's no lease and no monthly rental fee. You pay for processing, and we show you exactly what that costs in writing before you sign anything. The terminal stays ours, so it comes back to us if you ever close the account.

Pick the Dejavoo P1 if you want the bigger screen and a terminal that feels like a phone. Pick the Valor VL100 Pro if you take tips, need EBT, or want the simplest possible setup. Not sure? Tell us how you take payments and we'll recommend one. Sending invoices instead? See invoice payments for QuickBooks, Xero, and Zoho Books.

Both support dual pricing, traditional pricing, and surcharging. With dual pricing, the card price covers the cost of processing and your customers see both prices. In California it's the route we recommend, and we set up the signs and receipt wording so it's done correctly. Surcharging has its own card brand and state rules, and we'll tell you whether it fits your business.

Free equipment comes back to us. Send back the terminal and anything else we provided at no cost. There's no lease to pay off and no early termination fee.

Yes. Both support multi-merchant, so two businesses or two merchant accounts can share one terminal and settle to their own accounts. Handy for a shop that sells parts and service, or two businesses under one roof.

Yes. HSA and FSA cards work at merchants with a healthcare merchant category code, such as doctors, dentists, vision care, and chiropractors, with no extra inventory system. We set your account up under the right category. Retailers and pharmacies follow different rules, and we'll walk you through those if that's you.

Power and an internet connection, either Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable from your router. Paper rolls fit the built-in printer, or add the Merchant Advantage Program for unlimited paper and a terminal swap warranty.

When you need inventory, a menu, employee tracking, appointments tied to sales, or table service. A terminal handles payments; a POS runs the business. See the systems we install →
