What applies when you make a free website with Evident at evident.biz/free-website.
What you get
Evident Business Solutions ("EBS", "we") hosts a one-page website for your business at an ebs.page address, free of charge, and gives you a free Evident account to change it. There is no fee for the page, the ebs.page address, or edits. You do not need to buy anything from EBS to keep it.
Each page shows a short "Free website by Evident Business Solutions" line at the bottom. One free website per business and per email address.
Your content and your responsibility
- You confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you have the right to use every word, logo, and photo you add. Do not upload photos you found on Google or other websites unless you own them or have permission.
- Our AI writes the page from your answers and is told to use only what you provided. You review the page before it goes live. Once you publish, the wording is yours: you approved it, and you are responsible for everything your page says and shows, including prices, hours, claims, and offers. Tell us, or change it, if anything is wrong.
- You are responsible for following the laws and rules that apply to your business and its advertising, such as showing a license number where your trade requires it (California contractors, for example), health and professional advertising rules, and pricing and promotion laws.
- You are responsible for the accessibility of what you add, such as photos with words in them or links to other websites. We design the page template to follow common accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA), but we do not guarantee that any page meets them.
- Free photos we offer for the top of your page come from Pixabay and are used under the Pixabay Content License. Do not use them to suggest that a person shown endorses your business.
- You keep ownership of your content. You let EBS host, display, and copy it as needed to run your page.
- Links on your page are yours. We do not check or control the websites they point to.
- If you fill in your details from Google Maps, you confirm you own or manage that business. Only one free website is allowed per business listing.
What is not allowed
No adult content, illegal products or services, weapons or drug sales, gambling, hateful content, scams, misleading claims, or pages pretending to be another business or a government agency. Some pages get a review from our team before they go live. We may hold, edit, or take down any page that breaks these rules or that we receive a valid complaint about, with or without notice.
Copyright complaints and repeat infringers
Our Copyright Policy is part of these terms. It explains how to send a copyright notice to our agent, how a page owner can send a counter notice, and what happens next. - When we receive a valid notice, we take the material or the page down and email you how to send a counter notice.
- Repeat infringers: three valid copyright notices within 12 months ends your free website account. Your page goes offline and your email can't make a new one. We may end an account after one notice when the infringement is clear and deliberate. A notice stops counting if the material is put back after a valid counter notice.
Custom domains
- You can add a custom domain (like yourbusiness.com) for $99 a year, billed through your Evident account. We only offer domains we can register at a normal price.
- EBS registers and renews the domain on your behalf while you pay for it. If you leave and ask, we transfer the domain to you at no charge once your paid year is up. If you stop paying and do not ask for a transfer, the domain is allowed to expire.
Contact from EBS
By making a free website, you agree that EBS may contact you by email and phone about your website and about EBS services such as payment processing and POS systems. You can ask us to stop at any time. We do not send marketing text messages without your separate consent (see our Text Message Terms).
Changes and ending the service
- You can take your page offline from your account at any time, or ask us to delete it.
- We may change or end the free website service with 30 days' notice by email. If we end it, we will give you a copy of your page's text and photos on request.
No warranties, limit of liability, and indemnity
- The free website service, including the AI writing, the photo search, and the Google Maps lookup, is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and uninterrupted service.
- To the extent the law allows, EBS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, lost business or profits, downtime, or anything a visitor does with your page. EBS's total liability for anything related to the free website service is limited to $100. For a custom domain, it is limited to the amount you paid EBS for it in the 12 months before the claim.
- You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EBS and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, fines, and costs (including reasonable attorney fees) that come from your page's content, your business, your links, or your breaking these terms or the law.
